Biographies

Frances Crespi
Director of Religious Education
Pre-K to 7

Fran was born and raised in Dorchester. She was graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. After working with various small industries she took a position at the M.I.T. Draper Laboratory where she designed complex electronic equipment. In 1976 she started her own engineering service subcontracting government projects for twenty six years. Fran and her husband Charlie have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Fran was a volunteer catechist for 24 years and in 1991 she received her certification in the Master Teacher Program offered by the Archdiocese of Boston. After serving for six years as DRE in her home parish she moved on to St. Mary’s parish in Holliston as DRE. Presently, she is studying for the Master of Arts in Ministry Degree Program for the Laity at St. John’s Seminary.

Matthew Chick
Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Matt is a native of Wareham, Massachusetts where he graduated Wareham High School class of 1992. He then attended Bentley College in Waltham Massachusetts receiving a bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 1996. Upon graduation he joined Fidelity Investments as a computer network engineer where he worked for seven and a half years. In 2003 feeling that God was calling him to a different direction in life he made a career change and left Fidelity to do full time ministry at St. Mary’s in Holliston. He is the Coordinator of Youth Ministry and Religious Education for Grades 8 to 10. His wife Mary is a teacher and campus minister at Mount Alvernia Catholic High School. Mary and Matt are the proud parents of a baby girl Bridget Grace.

Shiloh Roby
Director of Music

Shiloh Roby is a native of Virginia, where he received his Bachelors in Music from Shenandoah University. He achieved his Masters in Music Theory Pedagogy from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. In addition to his experience in the music programs of several churches in the U.S., Shiloh recently spent a year as the Visiting Organ Scholar at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland; and the previous year as the Visiting Organ Scholar at Truro Cathedral in Truro, England.

Shiloh began ministry as the Organist & Director of Music at St. Mary’s, Holliston in January of 2010. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Percussive Arts Society, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Alpha Chi Honors Fraternity.

Leo Racine
Director of Contemporary Music

Leo Racine is the leader of the Contemporary Choir, or Folk Group, as it is also called. Leo caught the guitar - playing bug in the fifth grade and he began singing and playing at Mass a couple of years later. He hasn't been able to keep from singing since then. Leo and his family have been members of St. Mary's Parish since 1993 and he has led the Folk Group since 1994. Before coming to St. Mary’s, he participated in music ministry in his home parish of St. Joseph in New Bedford, as well as at Boston College and St. Ignatius Parish in Chestnut Hill. By day, Leo is a social work supervisor at the Department of Children and Families. Here at St. Mary’s Leo also is the ARISE Team coordinator, a trainer for the Protecting God's Children Program and a member of the Liturgy Committee. Leo feels very blessed to be able to participate in the liturgical life of St. Mary’s Parish and to share the work of ministry with the dedicated members of the Folk Group.

Patricia E. Pond
Religious Education Secretary

Patricia (Trisha) Pond was born and raised in Natick, MA. She worked for 35 years in several administrative support capacities at a community mental health care clinic serving children and families in Wellesley, MA.

She has been a Cantor and member of the Choir at her home parish of St. Linus in Natick for 26 years and continues in this music ministry today.

She loves singing, reading, shopping and is a fan of classic movies, especially movie musicals.

She currently lives at Ledgemere in Ashland where she shares a condo with her older brother, Tom.
